Tournament Rules
1. All contestants will be federated or non-federated members of Granite City Bassmasters.
2. Tournament director will have final say in all matters on tournament day, with the exception of something involving himself, in which the president will take over.
3. Contestants will be pared up by random drawing at the April meeting. Anyone not in the club before that drawing will be pared as they are added to the club. All parings are final and may only be changed by the tournament director. You will be responsible for notifying the tournament director and your paring at least 5 days before the event if you cannot show up. A fine of $10.00 will be charged to you if you fail to notify the tournament director and your paring 5 days prior.
4. No two contestants shall fish together more than once in a season.
5. You will be responsible for contacting your paring before each tournament and deciding whose boat and how to split the cost.
6. No contestant shall give or receive fish from his or her paring.
7. You may fish alone only once per season.
8. The sequence of ease off will be determined by random draw and the last boat drawn shall direct ease off.
9. You must remain in the boat at all times, with the exception of an emergency or to remove a lure from a dock.
10. The tournament director will have someone watching contestants returning to the check in site, anyone not to the check in area on time will be disqualified.
11. Sportsmanship is a must at all times as you are representing all bass anglers.
12. Contestants shall obey all buoys and signs on the lake you are fishing. Any violation of these rules and you are subject to termination from the club.
13. Each competitor will be required to wear a Coast Guard approved life preserver any time the combustion engine is running and in gear.
14. No alcoholic beverages will be allowed during tournament hours or club events.
15. Tournament hours will be announced at the beginning of the season and may change if so determined by the tournament director
16. Tournament director may cancel or delay a tournament or start time due to extreme weather.
17. Only artificial lures may be used.
18. One rod and reel at a time may be used.
19. No trolling of any kind.
20. All boats will be equipped with a functioning LIVE WELL capable of sustaining 2 limits of fish and checked before the tournament.
21. All bass shall be released immediately after they are weighed in.
22. No under water cameras during tournament hours.
23. You may fish all water accessible without getting out of the boat to push, pull or drag it.
24. No contestant may fish within fifty yards of another contestant without the consent of that contestant. You may not block off another contestant with your boat.
25. Courtesy with your paring and other contestants is a must. Some day things may be the other way around so be kind.
26. The tournament director may inspect any boat at any time he sees fit.
27. A 5 bass limit, large or smallmouth, 12 inch minimum length, unless local laws are different.
28. he fish are to be measured with the mouth closed and the tail fanned and squeezed.
29. Places will be determined by largest weight in pounds and ounces or tenths depending on the scale.
30. Any bass brought to the scale under 12” will result in a deduction of one (1) pound (lb) plus lose of weight of that fish.
31. Each dead fish will result in a deduction of .25 pounds.
32. Tournament director and or his appointee will conduct the weigh in at each tournament.
33. Tournament director has the right to refuse to weigh in a fish if it appears to be altered in any way.
34. All ties will be determined by big bass first, # of fish second and then a coin toss.
35. Landing nets are permitted.
36. You must have at least a 16-foot boat with no less than a 35-horse motor.
37. No pre-fishing the day of or the 2 days prior to the event.
